Environment, OH&S, Community At Uranex, we believe that the commitment to the principles and practices of good corporate and environmental citizenship goes beyond the requirements of relevant authorities. We aim to deliver best practice in all areas of sustainable development throughout the life of our activities. Community Uranex understands the necessity of being a good corporate citizen and neighbour and in working closely with local communities in both Australia and Tanzania. Uranex intends to keep the local communities surrounding its projects informed at all stages of exploration, development and production, and to enhance the community through providing employment and training opportunities whenever possible. As Uranex works to progress from exploration to the development of a mining operation, the Company will continue to work closely with the communities in which it operates in an effort to enhance the regions economically and socially. Uranium mining is subject to strict environmental regulation and Uranex is committed to protecting and minimising the impact of exploration and future operations. The Company is currently conducting a pre-feasibility study at Bahi and a scoping study at Thatcher Soak, in which environmental impacts and ways to minimise these impacts are being assessed. Health & Safety Health and Safety management is a key operational focus for Uranex, and this will strengthen as the Company progresses from explorer to producer. The Company strives to educate all staff, contractors and visitors to site on health and safety management and to develop a safety culture within the Uranex team, a commitment which will continue through exploration, to development and into production. |
