Manager - Sustainability
Sarah Lawley
Dr. Sarah Lawley was appointed Manager Sustainability in February 2010, a role encompassing the environment, community, OH&S and radiation protection aspects of the Company’s exploration and development activities. Dr. Lawley has a broad range of experience in physics and environmental science. She is a specialist in the field of radiation protection and holds a PhD in nuclear physics from the University of Adelaide. In 2002 she commenced work with the Radiation Protection Branch of the South Australian Environment Protection Authority, monitoring the radiological aspects of operations at the Olympic Dam and Beverley uranium mines.
Sarah has worked in Oil and Gas as a petrophysicist with SANTOS, interpreting geophysical data and as a consultant with Kellogg, Brown and Root, implementing environmental monitoring programs. Since 2007 she has specialised in uranium project development, working on environmental approvals for uranium projects in South Australia and in the Northern Territory.
She is responsible for ensuring that the Company’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility is demonstrated through actions. In particular, that Uranex implements leading practice in environmental, health and safety management, and that the Company provides positive outcomes for local communities.
Project Development Manager
Rod Chittenden
Rod has over 30 years experience in the minerals industry in Australia, Africa and South America in metallurgical project development in production environments or as a consultant, including Paladin Energy and Ranger Uranium Mines. Rod’s expertise and experience in East Africa, particularly with the Mkuju River Project, Kayalakeera Uranium deposit and Langer Heinrich Uranium deposit, will be contribute significantly to the development and evaluation of the Mkuju Uranium Project.
